Character Profile #Kashi

A former member of Q’s elite – not really elite – group of bodyguards and the First Guardian of the Gate of the Abandoned Warehouse for a few days, Kashi was known for his top hat, which he always carried around, except when he didn’t. An avid activist for orphan rights, Kashi housed a great deal of orphans, runaways and homeless children out of the goodness of his heart.
It is not clear where Kashi was born, or where he lived, but it is presumed that he was indeed born in Sniperville. The fact that he owns a Resonance Soul is proof of such. He lived with an old woman who might or might not have been his grandmother in a house that might or might not have belonged to the old woman who might or might not have been his grandmother.
He harbored a crush on his childhood friend Rin, but this tragic love would never come to fruition, as Rin and his entire village were killed off by roaming bandits. Kashi would be spared from this fate, as he had been away from the village at the time. Upon returning, Kashi would witness the death of those he held dear, and ensure that none of the bandits survived. In the aftermath, Kashi would gather the surviving orphans of the village and become their guardian, bringing them to Sniperville along with him.
Kashi’s Resonance Soul is the Distance Head, which allowed him the manipulate the concept of distance in an enclosed area. By rapidly decreasing the distance between himself and his opponent, Kashi could add force to his blows. Kashi would use his Distance Head to cover for his lack of physical powers, as he barely had enough power to kill a fly. A really, really big fly. Those miniature ones, he could kill. But only if he really tried hard.
Kashi’s death was brought upon him due to the restrictions imposed upon him by his own guilt. His failure to save his loved ones weighed heavily upon him his whole life, and prevented him from being able to access the full powers of his Resonance Soul. Highly ironic, considering that Kashi’s Distance Head was born from his desire to become free and grasp the skies. His arrogance was also a factor; his underestimation of Ismaru and his confidence caused him to take the young shinobi lightly.
Kashi had a fondness for children, and would often take time to feed the hungry and the poor. His favorite way of spending time was reading to children. People over his age, however, could get the fuck out. Fighting was never a part of Kashi’s hobbies, as the man preferred doing something productive with his time. After the stint with Q, he planned to quite fighting altogether and become a professional writer, who… wrote stuff… professionally. Sadly, a fiery blood sword to the chest would put an end to his dreams.
Kashi’s will will be carried on by those he took care of, those who loved him.
